Commercial Manager

Position Summary

·         Support the business in review of legal and commercial agreements with third parties to ensure that we are minimizing our commercial risk and maximizing commercial benefit.  Specifically:

o    Customer contracts

o    Vendors agreements

o    Lease agreements for premises

o    Company Terms & Conditions

·         Oversee the bid management function

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Direct the Bid Management function to support the sales teams in developing compelling bid/proposal documents and responses.

·         Responsible for the review of agreements from a legal perspective and act as the escalation point to outside legal counsel.

·         Responsible for the continual review and evolution of company Terms & Conditions and approach to contracts.

·         Act as a point of escalation regarding changes to Terms & Conditions, before engaging the Managing Director.

·         Ensure that customer 3rd party contracts/documents are appropriately filed and tracked.

·         Help assess the viability of partners from a commercial perspective and help negotiate favorable terms working closely with the Marketing Team during the vendor assessment process.  Also, help address issues with partners as needed.

To be fully familiar with the company’s portfolio of services and products including SLA and T&Cs of contract available to our customers.

Position Specifications

·         Familiarity with partnership and supplier negotiations with at least 5 years experience.

·         Good understanding of contract law

·         Experience in managing terms and conditions and development of legal documents (with the support of external legal expertise, as needed).

·         A thorough understanding of the UK Telco markets and existing industry contacts

·         Strong analytical skills and highly-numerate.

·         Interpersonal skills necessary for dealing with internal colleagues, customers and external supplier

·         Ability to communicate effectively both written and spoken.

·         Ability to plan and manage resources against clearly understood business priorities.

·         Ability to adopt a structured approach and seek appropriate assistance in solving problems and making business decisions.

·         Education to university degree standard or equivalent preferred.
