Application Management

Claranet's Application Management service is a key component of our Managed Application Hosting service, and is the component that customers rely on to ensure their business critical IT or web applications are always available.

Claranet's definition of an application is either a standard IT application such as Microsoft Exchange or SharePoint; or a customer built application using standard software engines such as Microsoft .net or php.

When consulting with our customers on how to optimise the availability of an application, three main areas are generally considered:

  • People – are there the right people with the right skills available at the right time to diagnose problems before or as they occur?
  • Processes – does the customer have right processes, clearly documented and reliably executed, to ensure problems are dealt with in the right way?
  • Accountability – who is ultimately responsible for the availability of the application and do they have the right skills and experience to manage such an important responsibility?
