Claranet's data centre facilities are equipped to provide our Customers with the ever increasing power and network capacity required to meet their current and future hosting needs. Claranet also implements the most rigorous security precautions, both in the network and physically at the data centre.

Claranet's Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) system combined with our integrated generator systems ensure power remains available in the event of failure in the national grid.
Each Claranet state-of-the-art facility is serviced by an N+1 or N+2 redundant power systems, meaning each part of the system has one or two spare components in case of failure.
Each of Claranet's data center facilities are designed for maximum cooling efficiency and redundancy. We use a HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning) system designed with N+1 redundancy to provide a consistent operating environment at a regulated temperature of 23 degrees Celsius (plus or minus 2 degrees) over the course of a 24 hour period. Humidity is maintained at 50% plus or minus 10%. This provides the optimum temperature, humidity and dust-free environment for servers.
Our HVAC units are monitored 24/7 and are on a strict maintenance regiment to keep them running at peak efficiency and capacity.
Claranet operates fire suppression/extinguishing systems in all of its facilities. The fire suppression system is augmented by VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus). The VESDA system is an air sampling system, which continuously draws air from the data centre through a network of piping with sampling ports. The system also interacts with more standard smoke detection systems and with the building management system, monitoring the air temperature and humidity. The VESDA system runs in a double knock configuration, requiring two detectors to trigger before an alarm is raised and an evacuation message is sounded by dumping gas.
All sites are protected by a card entry system with multiple checkpoints as well as by video
surveillance for all entrances, exits and passageways within the building. All access to site must first be approved by following the Claranet access process. This is a multi-stage process involving pass phrases and access lists. Photo ID is required at each site. Pass cards are granted as appropriate and access to racks is restricted via door locks and multi point locking systems.
Claranet's Data Centre Facilities are used by our Colocation, Managed Hosting, Managed Applications Hosting, and MPLS VPN services.
