Managed Load Balancers

The load-balancing service provides the facility to evenly balance and/or failover web traffic between multiple hosts in multiple locations, based upon criteria in a Customer-defined policy. The Service is provided through either dedicated or shared managed hardware in the Claranet data centre that provides the load-balancing functionality. Load balancing is essential for your business when any downtime of your online presence can result in loss of revenue and a negative impact on your reputation.

Shared to Global

Claranet provides all levels of load balancing service from Shared Load Balancing to Global Server Load Balancing.

Shared Load Balancing: Load balancing and/or failover will be setup between a maximum of two physical servers with one Virtual IP address (VIP), using up to three of the above protocols/ports.

Dedicated Load-Balancing: Claranet will supply a device or pair of HA devices solely for that single customer.

Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB): Claranet can provide a technically advanced Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) service if you need a bespoke, geographically-diverse highly available solution. This is an ideal solution if you have related businesses in different continents which need access to a specific regional site, as each can have a failover solution in another geographic location.
