A website is often a business’ first point of contact with a customer or supplier, and is crucial to its marketing and sales strategy. Claranet is experienced at providing cost effective, high availability websites with great customer service to a variety of business customers.
Having experienced issues with their previous service provider, GMTV - Europe’s biggest breakfast show - approached Claranet for a more customer orientated solution. With the right mix of people and a superior managed hosting solution, Claranet met GMTV’s hosting requirements.
GMTV required unlimited bandwidth to cope with the site’s popularity and to support the video section which featured extracts from the show and film trailers. This was of great importance as the show and the site are designed to work in tandem, supporting one another and driving interest, viewers and traffic. GMTV also required support and a managed email system.
Business continuity was a key requirement. This was resolved through regular remote and local backups, with data accessible throughout the network.
Claranet has the capability to host any site in one of its 16 datacentre across Europe and North America. Claranet’s expert managed hosting consultants designed a solution where the site would be hosted in one of our five London datacentres.
Claranet’s Network Operations Centre (NOC) was tasked with monitoring the servers, avoiding downtime by immediately dealing with any problems. Claranet’s NOC is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with a team of 50 technical support agents during business hours and the weekend. All members of the NOC are fully qualified and equipped to deal with any complex hosting issues that may arise.
Today, GMTV has a solution that they can rely upon, allowing
them to focus on entertaining and informing the nation.
