Setting Up Grabbit - News

Grabit is a free news reader available from www.shemes.com.
It's great for downloading binaries.

1) Open Grabit and right click the My Grabit icon and select Add Server.

2) You should now be presented with the window shown below.

Enter the following information:

Profile name: Type in the name you wish to give this account e.g. "Claranews".
Hostname: Type in the Claranet news server address which is news.clara.net
Port: Leave it as the default which should be 119.
Username: Enter your account username e.g. joebloggs.
Password: Enter your account password.

NB. The username and password is essential if you
connect to the internet using another provider.

3) Click on the Refresh Grouplist icon to download the list of groups listed on the Claranet news server.

4) Select the group you wish to view articles for and click on the Subscribe icon to download them.

5) Once the group has downloaded, you can view articles and reply to them.
You can also download binaries using Grabit.
